Narrative:
Customer checking bag needed to remove his generation one smart bag lithium battery. He was having difficulty removing battery and at some point the battery exploded filling the lobby area with toxic gas. Before a fire could start the bag was doused with a fire extinguisher and law enforcement was notified.

Title: Customer Service Agent reported passenger inadvertently exploded lithium battery at ticket counter during check-in.
Narrative: Customer checking bag needed to remove his Generation One smart bag lithium battery. He was having difficulty removing battery and at some point the battery exploded filling the lobby area with toxic gas.
