Narrative:

After takeoff I contacted pdx departure. The captain was flying the river 4 SID. After leaving 1000', I adjusted the takeoff power, when I looked back out my window I saw something at approximately 1 O'clock and slightly above us. I then saw 2 light airplanes flying formation. Both aircraft looked to be high wing, fixed gear small aircraft Y type. We were climbing at approximately 2000 FPM and 200-210 KTS. At the same moment I saw then I knew we were on a collision course. I grabbed the yoke of the airplane and pushed it forward from a 2000 FPM climb to a 1000 FPM descent. The captain looked over at me when he saw the 2 aircraft Y for the first time. The 2 small aircraft's passed directly over the top of our aircraft at mid wing position and about 50 vertical sep. Due to the abruptness and negative G's from the push over we checked with the cabin crew about the passengers safety. Several passengers on the right side of the airplane saw the 2 small aircraft's go over the top of us. No one was injured. After recovering and beginning a climb again, the captain took the airplane back. I then contacted departure and advised them of the incident. They said they were not painting any targets in that area. Upon arriving in phx I called pdx and talked to a supervisor. He said they started painting 2 targets in a subsequent sector and had notified authorities. The 2 small aircraft's were northbound at the time of the incident. If I had not sighted the 2 small aircraft's when I did, both the captain and myself agreed we would have been hit approximately over wing by the aircraft.

Title: NMAC BETWEEN AN ACR MLG AND TWO FORMATION SMA'S (Y) 4 MILES EAST OF PDX.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF I CONTACTED PDX DEP. THE CAPT WAS FLYING THE RIVER 4 SID. AFTER LEAVING 1000', I ADJUSTED THE TKOF PWR, WHEN I LOOKED BACK OUT MY WINDOW I SAW SOMETHING AT APPROX 1 O'CLOCK AND SLIGHTLY ABOVE US. I THEN SAW 2 LIGHT AIRPLANES FLYING FORMATION. BOTH ACFT LOOKED TO BE HIGH WING, FIXED GEAR SMA Y TYPE. WE WERE CLBING AT APPROX 2000 FPM AND 200-210 KTS. AT THE SAME MOMENT I SAW THEN I KNEW WE WERE ON A COLLISION COURSE. I GRABBED THE YOKE OF THE AIRPLANE AND PUSHED IT FORWARD FROM A 2000 FPM CLB TO A 1000 FPM DSNT. THE CAPT LOOKED OVER AT ME WHEN HE SAW THE 2 ACFT Y FOR THE FIRST TIME. THE 2 SMA'S PASSED DIRECTLY OVER THE TOP OF OUR ACFT AT MID WING POS AND ABOUT 50 VERT SEP. DUE TO THE ABRUPTNESS AND NEGATIVE G'S FROM THE PUSH OVER WE CHKED WITH THE CABIN CREW ABOUT THE PAXS SAFETY. SEVERAL PAXS ON THE R SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE SAW THE 2 SMA'S GO OVER THE TOP OF US. NO ONE WAS INJURED. AFTER RECOVERING AND BEGINNING A CLB AGAIN, THE CAPT TOOK THE AIRPLANE BACK. I THEN CONTACTED DEP AND ADVISED THEM OF THE INCIDENT. THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT PAINTING ANY TARGETS IN THAT AREA. UPON ARRIVING IN PHX I CALLED PDX AND TALKED TO A SUPVR. HE SAID THEY STARTED PAINTING 2 TARGETS IN A SUBSEQUENT SECTOR AND HAD NOTIFIED AUTHORITIES. THE 2 SMA'S WERE NBND AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. IF I HAD NOT SIGHTED THE 2 SMA'S WHEN I DID, BOTH THE CAPT AND MYSELF AGREED WE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT APPROX OVER WING BY THE ACFT.
