Narrative:
On descent into clt; got ACARS message trying to assign additional flying after the termination of my trip. I did not acknowledge the message because we were entering a high workload environment; descending via chesly 3 RNAV arrival. It created a big distraction; which is an impediment to safety.I knew I could not accept additional flying because of: 1. Possible fatigue - had already been up nearly 15 hours. 2. Physiological needs - had not eaten anything since lunch.company trying to reschedule while pilots are entering high workload environment. Any schedule change should be while on ground.
