Narrative:
I am a student pilot and was returning from my long x-country trip from port columbus to burke lakefront. My calculations as to position were not as expected and I found myself closer to the cleveland hopkins TCA than I thought. As I saw downtown cleveland I brought my altitude down from 3500' to 2500' MSL. I was disoriented as to my exact location and realized that my location was getting closer to cleveland hopkins and also found myself near high antennas. I took evasive action from the antenna area as well as locating myself further from cleveland hopkins. I believe the main cause of my situation was lack of experience. Prior to this flight my solo x-country time totaled approximately 6 hours. I believe my teaching has been excellent and gave me the knowledge to understand this situation but my lack of experience can only be made up for by continuing to fly solo x-country. In order to avoid this type of situation again I would contact cleveland approach and ask for assistance as to my location and help getting to my destination as soon as I became disoriented.
