Narrative:
ATC clearance heavy transport to 4000' to intercept localizer. ATC failed to clear us for approach. ATC then inquired if we could make a landing from that altitude while bawling us out for (as usual) his mistake. It appeared to our crew that approach at bos was far more interested in chatting with a 'cutesy' female on the same frequency.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR PIC INCENSED OVER FAILURE OF APCH CTLR TO ISSUE APCH CLRNC AFTER VECTOR TO INTERCEPT ILS LOCALIZER.
Narrative: ATC CLRNC HVT TO 4000' TO INTERCEPT LOC. ATC FAILED TO CLR US FOR APCH. ATC THEN INQUIRED IF WE COULD MAKE A LNDG FROM THAT ALT WHILE BAWLING US OUT FOR (AS USUAL) HIS MISTAKE. IT APPEARED TO OUR CREW THAT APCH AT BOS WAS FAR MORE INTERESTED IN CHATTING WITH A 'CUTESY' FEMALE ON THE SAME FREQ.
