Narrative:

Refer to bos airport plate titled 'hold point' (inset) depicting runways and various 'hold lines' for runways. One must assume that the 'hold lines' are the hold points the controller is referring to since the words 'hold point' are only mentioned in the title. Our clearance was 'taxi 4R, hold short of the hold point.' we taxied toward runway 4R planning to hold short of the runway 4R hold line. After passing the runway 9-4l hold line were told we had missed our hold point. Note: active takeoff runway was 9 and we had requested runway 4R due to weight. I believe since all other aircraft were going to runway 9 the controller simply forgot we were part of the group. Perhaps calling the runway 9-4l hold line a hold point on the diagram instead of a hold line would be enough to differentiate from the runway 4R hold line.

Title: MLG FLC CLEARED TO RWY 4 AT BOS OVERRAN HOLD POINT.

Narrative: REFER TO BOS ARPT PLATE TITLED 'HOLD POINT' (INSET) DEPICTING RWYS AND VARIOUS 'HOLD LINES' FOR RWYS. ONE MUST ASSUME THAT THE 'HOLD LINES' ARE THE HOLD POINTS THE CTLR IS REFERRING TO SINCE THE WORDS 'HOLD POINT' ARE ONLY MENTIONED IN THE TITLE. OUR CLRNC WAS 'TAXI 4R, HOLD SHORT OF THE HOLD POINT.' WE TAXIED TOWARD RWY 4R PLANNING TO HOLD SHORT OF THE RWY 4R HOLD LINE. AFTER PASSING THE RWY 9-4L HOLD LINE WERE TOLD WE HAD MISSED OUR HOLD POINT. NOTE: ACTIVE TKOF RWY WAS 9 AND WE HAD REQUESTED RWY 4R DUE TO WEIGHT. I BELIEVE SINCE ALL OTHER ACFT WERE GOING TO RWY 9 THE CTLR SIMPLY FORGOT WE WERE PART OF THE GROUP. PERHAPS CALLING THE RWY 9-4L HOLD LINE A HOLD POINT ON THE DIAGRAM INSTEAD OF A HOLD LINE WOULD BE ENOUGH TO DIFFERENTIATE FROM THE RWY 4R HOLD LINE.
