Narrative:
- ACARS wasn't reporting the expressway visual runway xx was in use during the briefing prior to decent; planned for the localizer.- during the decent; center informed us to plan for the expressway visual runway xx; captain started to argue with center it's not stated in the ACARS and center responded back with plan on the expressway visual runway xx.- there was plenty of time for the captain to load the expressway visual runway xx prior to below 18;000 feet and after since he was not pilot flying.- he refused to follow instructions given by ATC because it's not being reported on the ACARS the expressway visual runway xx was in use.- once were handed off to approach they informed us to proceed direct to zzzzz on the expressway visual runway xx; the captain began to argue with approach that the expressway visual runway xx was not stated on the ACARS for weather. The captain stated he refused to proceed direct to zzzzz and wanted to do the RNAV. Approach informed us they can't accommodate our request and were told to do the expressway visual runway xx due to heavy flow of traffic.- the captain continued to argue with approach and stating he was not going to do the expressway visual runway xx.- approach had us change headings and altitude and go back to center (heading 040 climb 4;000 feet from 3;000 feet).- center had us fly headings outside of ZZZ to avoid traffic and other airspaces.- center cleared us back into ZZZ for the localizer xx approach.- contact approach they cleared us for the visual for runway xx; the captain continued to argue with approach.- I informed the captain to load in the approach so I have guidance coming in runway xx.this event caused other aircraft coming in a slight delay to receive clearance; because the captain continued to argue with center and approach over the radio.- the captain poor attitude and unprofessional-ism towards ATC and respecting the clearance given.- the continued arguing and frustration by the captain.- the captain failed to follow checklist decent; sterile chime didn't come on till prior of gear coming down including landing lights.[would recommend:]- if able to; start reporting the expressway visual runway xx on the ACARS if in-use.- ask for delay vectors or time to load the approach in the FMS.
