Narrative:
At slc only air carrier runway in use was 16L. It was cool (74 degree) and we had takeoff data using maximum power for the runway. Flow control had us taking off at or before xx:29 mdt for ord. With main runway closed they taxied us across midfield and was the first takeoff either of us had on this particular runway. We both were busy making sure we were on the right txwys and parallel taxiway. We were doing our takeoff checklist when the tower asked if we were ready. I had the first officer say yes, thinking we were still with extra mins for out takeoff time frame. There was a larger commuter aircraft ahead of us and I thought we were going behind them. All of a sudden, the tower cleared us for takeoff! I could barely make it to the runway at a close to end intersection. While busy turning I asked the first officer if we had 'numbers' for the runway. He started fumbling through the paperwork so I started to turn, to use all the runway, from the end. The tower broke in with a loud voice to 'takeoff' as he 'had traffic 1 1/2 mi final.' I stopped my turn, swung around, and took off. I was not at the exact end when I started my takeoff roll. When in cruise we went back over everything and found we didn't have V1 VOR V2 for the 'intersection'. We had plenty of runway, weight was fine, and temperatures cool, so there wasn't any problem. I let the tower and ATC, hurry me, and put me in a questionable legal situation (not being legal). The speed probably was one 1 KT for V1 difference, but we decided to file a report, in case we had an 'aviation expert' observing us in some way!

Title: ACR MLG MADE AN INTERSECTION TKOF WITHOUT COMPUTING CORRECT 'V' SPEEDS.
Narrative: AT SLC ONLY ACR RWY IN USE WAS 16L. IT WAS COOL (74 DEG) AND WE HAD TKOF DATA USING MAX PWR FOR THE RWY. FLOW CTL HAD US TAKING OFF AT OR BEFORE XX:29 MDT FOR ORD. WITH MAIN RWY CLOSED THEY TAXIED US ACROSS MIDFIELD AND WAS THE FIRST TKOF EITHER OF US HAD ON THIS PARTICULAR RWY. WE BOTH WERE BUSY MAKING SURE WE WERE ON THE R TXWYS AND PARALLEL TXWY. WE WERE DOING OUR TKOF CHKLIST WHEN THE TWR ASKED IF WE WERE READY. I HAD THE F/O SAY YES, THINKING WE WERE STILL WITH EXTRA MINS FOR OUT TKOF TIME FRAME. THERE WAS A LARGER COMMUTER ACFT AHEAD OF US AND I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING BEHIND THEM. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF! I COULD BARELY MAKE IT TO THE RWY AT A CLOSE TO END INTXN. WHILE BUSY TURNING I ASKED THE F/O IF WE HAD 'NUMBERS' FOR THE RWY. HE STARTED FUMBLING THROUGH THE PAPERWORK SO I STARTED TO TURN, TO USE ALL THE RWY, FROM THE END. THE TWR BROKE IN WITH A LOUD VOICE TO 'TKOF' AS HE 'HAD TFC 1 1/2 MI FINAL.' I STOPPED MY TURN, SWUNG AROUND, AND TOOK OFF. I WAS NOT AT THE EXACT END WHEN I STARTED MY TKOF ROLL. WHEN IN CRUISE WE WENT BACK OVER EVERYTHING AND FOUND WE DIDN'T HAVE V1 VOR V2 FOR THE 'INTXN'. WE HAD PLENTY OF RWY, WEIGHT WAS FINE, AND TEMPS COOL, SO THERE WASN'T ANY PROB. I LET THE TWR AND ATC, HURRY ME, AND PUT ME IN A QUESTIONABLE LEGAL SITUATION (NOT BEING LEGAL). THE SPD PROBABLY WAS ONE 1 KT FOR V1 DIFFERENCE, BUT WE DECIDED TO FILE A RPT, IN CASE WE HAD AN 'AVIATION EXPERT' OBSERVING US IN SOME WAY!
