Narrative:
During landing; touchdown; aircraft drifted to the right of centerline and my student attempted to correct and bring himself back onto centerline but slammed on the brakes. The aircraft then proceeded to skid to the left and when I took controls I attempted to get the aircraft back onto centerline but at this point the aircraft kept skidding to the right and eventually off the runway and onto the grass area. No damage was done to aircraft and to any runway lights.
