Narrative:
The 737-800 overhead bins are a safety issue. When there are 4-5 roll bags in them it's like bench pressing 200 lbs. Since we do not weigh carry-on's; this is a problem. I've had shoulder pain twice now. The assist lever that is supposed to help close only works when there is hardly anything in the bin.

Title: B737-800 Flight Attendant reported the overhead bins being heavy to close due to weight of numerous heavy bags in the bin.
