Narrative:

Cleared for taxi to active runway 01 ilg on taxiway sierra. Had to cross intersection txwys charlie, bravo, sierra. Turn left on sierra. Confronted with two sets of hold lines. Xed the first set and taxied to the lines closest to runway 01. Informed by tower that I was in the ILS critical area (not on runway), and told to do a 180 and taxi behind the hold lines, which I did. The problem is that the hold lines on runway 01 at ilg have been moved back from the runway. The old lines were painted out some time ago, but that paint has deteriorated to the point that there are now 2 sets of hold lines on the taxiway. This is very confusing. The old hold lines need to be more permanently removed.

Title: SMA TAXIING OUT FOR TKOF CROSSED OVER THE ILS CRITICAL HOLD LINE. PLT BLAMES BLLED THROUGH ON OLD HOLD LINE PAINT AND CLAIMS THERE APPEARS TO BE TWO SETS OF HOLD LINES.

XED THE FIRST SET AND TAXIED TO THE LINES CLOSEST TO RWY 01. INFORMED BY TWR THAT I WAS IN THE ILS CRITICAL AREA (NOT ON RWY), AND TOLD TO DO A 180 AND TAXI BEHIND THE HOLD LINES, WHICH I DID. THE PROB IS THAT THE HOLD LINES ON RWY 01 AT ILG HAVE BEEN MOVED BACK FROM THE RWY. THE OLD LINES WERE PAINTED OUT SOME TIME AGO, BUT THAT PAINT HAS DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THAT THERE ARE NOW 2 SETS OF HOLD LINES ON THE TXWY. THIS IS VERY CONFUSING. THE OLD HOLD LINES NEED TO BE MORE PERMANENTLY REMOVED.
