Narrative:
After landing on in ZZZ; we were cleared to proceed to the gate. Upon arriving at [the] gate in ZZZ; a baggage cart was parked inside/on the safety line. We requested ground crew to remove cart from safety zone. While awaiting ground crew to complete removal of ground cart; aircraft was struck on the right side of the horizontal stabilizer by an aircraft attempting to maneuver behind us. Communication was established with the aircraft that struck us and confirmed the damage. Elected to shut down the aircraft in place and be towed into gate.
