Narrative:
With the requirements for hazmat to be loaded with 15 bags surrounding the load; aircraft doorways can become crowded for loading and offloading of cargo. [With the configuration of company] B757 AC; fifteen bags around a package are all loaded in pit 2; the doorway; limiting the space for employees to maneuver. Pit 1; forward of the door; was empty in this load plan. This loading configuration is unnecessarily dangerous for the potential for falls during the loading and unloading process. During the loading of an aircraft an employee is required to be inside the cargo hold of the aircraft.this loading practice of baggage right to the door has become a common practice in the industry today.
