Narrative:
APU inoperative during taxi to ramp. Captain noticed abnormal grinding noise. During turn to parking ramp, red gear warning light illuminated and right green gear down and lock light extinguished. Aircraft brought to gradual stop. During coordination of unsafe gear procedures APU fire alarm sounded and light illuminated. APU fire checklist accomplished fire bell could not be silenced until fire extinguisher discharge button was depressed. Smoke was confirmed coming from right wing by ground control and other aircraft APU fire warning reoccurred shortly and emergency evacuation was accomplished. With approach deactivated by maintenance source of APU fire unknown. Fire confirmed by fire department damage to aircraft.

Title: GEAR UNSAFE INDICATION AND APU FIRE WARNING WITH CONFIRMED SMOKE REQUIRES AN EVACUATION OF PAX FROM LGT.
Narrative: APU INOPERATIVE DURING TAXI TO RAMP. CAPT NOTICED ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE. DURING TURN TO PARKING RAMP, RED GEAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND R GREEN GEAR DOWN AND LOCK LIGHT EXTINGUISHED. ACFT BROUGHT TO GRADUAL STOP. DURING COORD OF UNSAFE GEAR PROCS APU FIRE ALARM SOUNDED AND LIGHT ILLUMINATED. APU FIRE CHKLIST ACCOMPLISHED FIRE BELL COULD NOT BE SILENCED UNTIL FIRE EXTINGUISHER DISCHARGE BUTTON WAS DEPRESSED.
