Narrative:
Flying to northern oh VFR from cincinnati. I never fly VFR and was not in contact with en route or other facility. Approaching dayton, I remained outside the cox area. However, this put me slightly into the wright patterson AFB 5 mi circle. As I had no VFR charts, only IFR en route and approach plates, I could not locate a frequency to contact wright patterson AFB. In the future, when flying VFR, I should use the VFR charts to avoid these predicaments. On the return trip I used flight following and had no problems.
