Narrative:
During cruise right fire light came on. Engine was shut down per emergency checklist and secured. Emergency was declared, fire trucks called and longest runway selected with best wind conditions. Landed single engine west/O further incident. Passenger were deplaned and I opened engine cowl for fire personnel at their request, to make sure no fire was present. FAA ramped up and checked all paperwork and manuals. As best as I can determine, everything was in order. They (FAA) asked me if I had written up the discrepancy and I replied that I wanted to make sure that passenger had deplaned and determine that no fire was present. Discrepancy was then written up.
