Narrative:
[I became aware that] both of these flights were in the same airspace with the same call sign. The other dispatcher notified ATC and [changed one of the flights] to mitigate the problem. Both flights had been planned already when [this dispatch shift] got in.we failed to [change the flight number of] one of the flights before both flights got in the air.we should not be assigning two flights out of two different stations the same call sign because there is no notification if it becomes an issue.
