Narrative:
Using LORAN direct routing from smo to abq, I failed to notice R25015 and R2501E and overflew military restr airspace at 11500' MSL. While over the military airport, I consulted the lax sectional chart and checked with my VOR DME to inp VOR and realized I was in restr airspace. Being halfway through it, I proceeded on course to abq. I considered calling the military airport, but decided against it as I would then identify myself as a violator, risking certificate action. I saw no other aircraft and heard no mention of my presence on the control tower frequency. I did notice my transponder lighting up frequently, and knew I was on radar. I was squawking 1200, mode C on. Problem: I have been advised to not return phone calls from ATC and not talk to anyone official at any time because they will hold anything I say against me. I'm sick and tired of fearing the FAA and want the atmosphere of punitive action against pilots to cease. I want to be able to discuss things like this with my FAA; I don't want to live in fear of them. It would have been safer to talk to them at the time of violation. More careful preflight planning would have avoided the problem, and I will do so, especially in heavily populated/complex airspace like the lax area. I don't know what to do about the FAA. I won't talk for now about violations. Too bad. The entire flying community loses due to lack of complete and free, honest communications.
