Narrative:
GPWS terrain alert while on RNAV (GPS) Y 23 into crw. The alert came after passing enivy. We were at the appropriate altitude and vertical speed. The GPWS gave one terrain alert while we were IMC and we executed the escape maneuver. We told ATC and they said they didn't observe any terrain threats. We were vectored around for another attempt and landed with no further GPWS warnings. If the GPWS gives an alert it must be respected.
