Narrative:
Encountered severe wave at FL410. Throttles moved to idle as airspeed increased. Autopilot was disconnected as aircraft climbed 900 feet. Speed brakes were extended; but airspeed exceeded mmo and vmo. We exited the wave and continued without any further events.

Title: 787 Captain reported encountering a wind shear at FL400 resulting in airspeed exceedance; deviation from assigned altitude and loss of auto throttles.
Narrative: Encountered severe wave at FL410. Throttles moved to idle as airspeed increased. Autopilot was disconnected as aircraft climbed 900 feet. Speed brakes were extended; but airspeed exceeded MMO and VMO. We exited the wave and continued without any further events.
