Narrative:
Aircraft is an amphibian which has peculiar gear extension procedures due to the fact that it has to have gear up for water lndgs and gear down for land lndgs. This precludes installation of a gear warning horn. During takeoff from runway immediately preceding this landing, aircraft experienced substantial gear shimmy. No gear problems were experienced during 2 intervening water lndgs. Upon completion of the before landing checklist, having put the gear lever in the down position, was surprised when keel touched the runway first. Aircraft received minor damage on the keel. Corrective suggestion: put warning system including horn.

Title: GA SMA AMPHIBIAN LANDED GEAR UP AFTER PRACTICING WATER LNDGS.
Narrative: ACFT IS AN AMPHIBIAN WHICH HAS PECULIAR GEAR EXTENSION PROCS DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT HAS TO HAVE GEAR UP FOR WATER LNDGS AND GEAR DOWN FOR LAND LNDGS. THIS PRECLUDES INSTALLATION OF A GEAR WARNING HORN. DURING TKOF FROM RWY IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THIS LNDG, ACFT EXPERIENCED SUBSTANTIAL GEAR SHIMMY. NO GEAR PROBS WERE EXPERIENCED DURING 2 INTERVENING WATER LNDGS. UPON COMPLETION OF THE BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST, HAVING PUT THE GEAR LEVER IN THE DOWN POS, WAS SURPRISED WHEN KEEL TOUCHED THE RWY FIRST. ACFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE ON THE KEEL. CORRECTIVE SUGGESTION: PUT WARNING SYS INCLUDING HORN.
