Approximately 10 minutes prior to top of descent while en route to ZZZZ; the fwd cargo fire (red annunciation) illuminated. Pilot in command and I accomplished the non-normal for the condition; and [advise] with ATC. Per QRH non-normal; we diverted to the nearest suitable airport. We made an uneventful approach and landing.
