Narrative:
Approaching our top of descent point during cruise; flight attendants reported electrical/burning oil smell in the cabin; especially in rows 10 through 17. Passengers and a commuting pilot voiced similar concerns to them and to us upon landing. We did not smell anything in the cockpit; and the smell was reported to dissipate after about 5-7 minutes; during the descent. Appropriate logbook entry; fumes report and contact with the [chief pilot] were accomplished.
