Narrative:

Told to cross a point 45 NM west of wri at 10000' MSL. Did not pick up wri DME until 58 DME out which we were at 23000' and descending and doing 450 KTS plus on ground speed and saw we would not make the crossing restriction, started down from 41000' with our best calculation from another VOR because of not picking up wri DME. Miscalculated ground speed and distance and altitude and did not make the crossing.
