Narrative:
During upload procedures; a smart bag that appeared to contain a lithium battery was identified. The discrepancy was reported to me and I immediately requested supervisor assistance via radio. Upon arrival; supervisor visually inspected the bag and stated that the battery was dead and directed me to load the bag onto the aircraft as is.

Title: Airline Ramp Personnel reported smart bag with Lithium Ion battery attached was loaded in cargo pit because battery indicated 'dead'.
Narrative: During upload procedures; a smart bag that appeared to contain a lithium battery was identified.
