Narrative:
During approach to dfw, while working on frequency 119.05. The controller cleared aircraft from 17000 to 10000'. The captain was flying and copilot working the radios. Copilot read back cleared to 10000' and set it into the altitude alert window. Captain and F/east were monitoring the radio xmissions. We were handed off to new controller and reported level at 10000'. Second controller advised us we should be at 12000', not 10000', and instructed us to climb to 11000'. We complied. Apparently we had received altitude for north lndgs. Dfw was landing to the south. We made normal approach and landing. To our best recollection, we heard, 'you are cleared to 10000.' copilot read back 10000' and no correction heard. After incident occurred, approach appeared low keyed and no request for follow-up made. We never saw or heard any conflicting traffic.

Title: FLT CREW OF WDB DESCENDING INTO DFW SCURRY 9 ARR HEARD 10000'. CTLR CLEARED FLT BACK TO 11000'. ADVISED FLT HAD ONLY BEEN CLEARED TO 12000'.
Narrative: DURING APCH TO DFW, WHILE WORKING ON FREQ 119.05. THE CTLR CLRED ACFT FROM 17000 TO 10000'. THE CAPT WAS FLYING AND COPLT WORKING THE RADIOS. COPLT READ BACK CLRED TO 10000' AND SET IT INTO THE ALT ALERT WINDOW. CAPT AND F/E WERE MONITORING THE RADIO XMISSIONS. WE WERE HANDED OFF TO NEW CTLR AND RPTED LEVEL AT 10000'. SECOND CTLR ADVISED US WE SHOULD BE AT 12000', NOT 10000', AND INSTRUCTED US TO CLB TO 11000'. WE COMPLIED. APPARENTLY WE HAD RECEIVED ALT FOR N LNDGS. DFW WAS LNDG TO THE S. WE MADE NORMAL APCH AND LNDG. TO OUR BEST RECOLLECTION, WE HEARD, 'YOU ARE CLRED TO 10000.' COPLT READ BACK 10000' AND NO CORRECTION HEARD. AFTER INCIDENT OCCURRED, APCH APPEARED LOW KEYED AND NO REQUEST FOR FOLLOW-UP MADE. WE NEVER SAW OR HEARD ANY CONFLICTING TFC.
