Narrative:
During cruise at FL390 received 'hydraulic 3 elev off' alert; hydraulic 3 quantity 4.9 gal. Hydraulic 3 quantity continued to 3.6 gal. Consulted maintenance control/operations via sat. Selected hydraulic manual and turned engine pumps off to conserve fluid. [Requested priority handling] with center and requested xxc and 20 mile final. Turned back on pumps for landing and received hydraulic 3 qty lo. Gear extended normally. After normal landing had trucks inspect aircraft and taxied to gate. Final quantity 1.6 gal. Failed o-ring in hydraulic 3 system.
