Narrative:
We were flying the chsly 4 arrival into clt. While meeting multiple speed and altitude restrictions we lost situational awareness temporarily and ATC called to ask what our current speed was. We answered truthfully that our speed was around 315 and were then informed we should be flying 'published speeds.' we immediately slowed to the published speed of 250 knots to comply. We apologized to ATC and had no further incidents. Stay focused during complicated arrival and departure procedures.
