Narrative:
After starting engines and receiving the salute there was an issue with the temperature in the FMC (flight management computer) dropping out causing auto throttle to trip off. First officer (first officer) reloaded performance data and we armed the auto throttle. I then called 'after start checklist' without calling 'set flaps 1; after start checklist '. I noticed during taxi and before the before takeoff checklist that flaps were not set and I called for flaps to be set to 1 and we discussed what happened and how we became distracted. Everything proceeded normally after that.
