Narrative:
Strong wake turbulence encounter into lax. Approximately 6 miles spacing from lead as referenced via TCAS. Encountered 'limited aircraft control' because of event; immediately requested vectors off course for 'clean' air. Encounters are much more frequent since the implementation of recat (wake turbulence recategorization). Things need to change; spacing is too tight now. No need for pilots to have to deal with this issue which can possibly create severe safety concerns.
