Narrative:

I filed a VFR flight plan from ZZZ to ZZZ1 via ZZZ2. There was a known/published vip tfr in effect for ZZZ1. I filed my VFR flight plan with 1-800 WX brief that morning. We waited for the ceiling to lift to a MVFR and my family and I departed ZZZ. Upon flying; I realized that if I kept going; I would arrive within the timeframe of 10:45-11:45am; so I decided to land at ZZZ2 airport to abate the early arrival/violation of the ZZZ1 vip tfr. I landed and taxied to [the] FBO where my family and I proceeded to go the bathroom and get some water. We went back out to the plane; where I called 1-800 WX brief to amend my flight plan. The gentleman on the other end recommended I close the original and start a new VFR flight plan; which I agreed to do. I went through all of the information with him and when he asked how much fuel on board the aircraft; I turned the master switch on and stated approx. 30-35 gallons; which would give me three and half hours of total time @ 10gals/hr. I specifically asked if the tfr times were still active or if they were extended. He said the times were still valid. Had I of known that the times were delayed; I would have stayed at the FBO and not given myself an added stress as again; I specifically landed to avoid that issue. Upon loading my family into the plane; and contacting ground to request flight following; I was given another squawk code and taxied to runway X. I was cleared on course to fly over ZZZ2 per my flight plan. During this flight; I was passed from ZZZ2 (altimeter 30.16) to approach. I tried contacting approach several times with no response. I switched back to ZZZ2 to let them know; they advised keep trying. I switched back to approach and kept trying to reach them; finally another aircraft told them [I] was trying to reach them for the last 5 minutes and relayed for us to switch to a different frequency. It was then I was able to get approach where I advised them I was enroute to ZZZ1 when they denied me stating air force one just landed. I originally stated I was going to divert to ZZZ3; but when looking at my location; I was close enough to ZZZ2. At no point in time did approach give me the [TRACON] altimeter and from my training I learned to use the last known airport altimeter. I checked the wind via a iphone app 'aero weather lite' and it showed variable [at] 3kts- I decided to use the favorable runway of the airport. I entered the traffic pattern & looked down [at] the windsock; which was flat on a right downwind 1;600' and on final approach; noticed I was too high; so I performed a go around; twice. On the third attempt I had the runway made. I proceeded to short final with 30 degrees of flaps and touched down within approx. 200-300 feet on runway xx and proceeded to raise my flaps to perform a short field landing. I took into account a high density altitude day of 30c and needed 1;500 of runway for a 50' object; ground roll. I applied heavy braking when the flaps were up; which equated to approximately 680' of skid marks on the runway; where I ended up running out of room. As I tried to turn to the right to dump the left wing and the plane ran out of room and fell into the lake where my family and I barely made it out alive as the water started to submerge the cabin. I believe that had 1-800 WX brief advised me of the delayed vip tfr. I would have not had the external stressor and could have safely landed at ZZZ1 without issue. I do not know if it is a rule/regulation when speaking to approach on flight following that they have to give you the altimeter; but every other ATC along the route has given me the altimeter and without an ATIS/ASOS at[airport]. That is possibly why I was high in the pattern which resulted to a high final having to perform go-arounds. I truly believe that as I submitted a foia request to pull all radio transmissions as well as the 1-800 WX brief calls. I think better information could have been passed along from ATC as ZZZ2 knew they were passing me off to [TRACON] with a destination of ZZZ2 and had the president not yet have landed. I should have been told not to enter the tfr airspace. Which would have resulted in me possibly returning to ZZZ2 or flying until I was allowed to land [at] ZZZ1; preventing the incident.
