Narrative:
Flying home to ZZZ near fwn airport. At 3;500 feet noticed a single parachute off my right wing about a 500 feet below me. No warning that fwn was conducting parachute activity; no tfr or special marking surrounding the airport. Was squawking 1200 about xx miles from ZZZ and I got a call from [TRACON]. Asking me where I was intending to land. Nothing further. Later given a squawk and landed; no further contact with ATC.
