Narrative:
Noticed a burning smell inflight. Upon starting descent; grey/white smoke/fumes started illuminating from the lower center windscreen. [Priority handling was requested] with the ATC facility and diverted into ZZZ. Smoke continued for about 2 minutes then ceased. After about a 2-3 minute pause; the smoke returned for another 2 minutes. The smoke then ceased and a normal landing was performed.
