Narrative:

Aircraft arrived at ZZZ gate X1. When we arrived on the aircraft; it was extremely hot and felt like no air was flowing. I proceeded to stow my bags and completed the pre-flight check of the aft. At that point my face was severely flushed and got an instant headache. The ca (captain) was aware of the heat and asked for external air to be hooked up. It was not cooling the aircraft at all. He then requested that the external air unit to be switched out for another. The temperature in the FD (flight deck) was 98 degrees and the cabin was about 83 degrees. We waited about 45 mins and at that time the forward cabin began to cool down but the aft was still extremely hot. The ca suggested that we give it more time. My flying partner then reached out to management. We both called cs (customer service) and asked to speak to a mod (manager on duty) to inform them of the situation. Unfortunately; the mod could not be reached because [the mod] was driving and would return our calls when possible. However; [the mod] failed to contact either of us. After that the ca came out on the jet bridge and asked if I can sit in the extra jump seat while he can move passengers towards front of aircraft so that last 3 rows remained unoccupied. He was told no and continued to talk to dispatch at that time. The ca suggested to dispatch that we take the broken aircraft at gate X11. That aircraft was being worked on but dispatch said no we could not swap to that aircraft. We waited a little while longer and then ca said the aircraft was cooling down and we can board once the cabin temperature was below 34 degrees. So at that time he wanted to board. I then got back on the aircraft and headed to the aft position. It was still very hot and felt like no air was circulating. The ca was asked what would happen when we disconnect the air and passengers are boarded creating body heat in the cabin? He said it would be fine once the aircraft started moving. I was not comfortable with that but the ca insisted that the cabin would cool down. He then asked if we could board and I told him to ask [flight attendant B] since she was [the] forward position. The air was [then] disconnected and boarding commenced. The temperature started rising again in the cabin and I felt dizzy and nauseous; my head was throbbing; I felt as if I couldn't breathe; and I was really hot and flushed. I felt as if I was about to fall. I held on to the seat back at which point I grabbed the interphone and called [flight attendant B] telling her I felt that I was about to pass out. She immediately stopped boarding and made her way back to me. [Flight attendant B] and I made our way to the extra flight attendant (flight attendant) jump seat since there was quite a few passengers onboard the aircraft. [Flight attendant B] gave me water and ice on my face trying to cool me down. The boarding process was stopped. I sat in the jump seat for a little while until the passengers were deplaned and returned to the gate. I was then moved to a passenger seat. The emt was called. They asked a few questions and took my vitals. They asked if I was drinking enough fluids which I said yes and if I still felt dizzy but I wasn't at that time since I [was] seated and reclined in 1C. I was asked if I needed the paramedics and [to] be hospitalized but I said no. When the aircraft arrived in ZZZ; we were told the pack was broken and that it wasn't cooling down. The temperature inside the aircraft was extremely hot. Ca said that he would try and get the cabin to the temperature needed for boarding. The ca knew of the conditions on this aircraft because he had worked on it the day prior and the pack was MEL. The temperature on this aircraft was just extreme.
