Narrative:
Our day 8 had several factors leading up to the event which can be wholly described as extremely busy. Notable distractions were additional legs added as we were blocking out for our first leg; deteriorating weather; changing passenger show times to try and work around weather; and then ground/clearance/gate hold operations at ZZZ. As we were monitoring gate hold for a departure time; we were expecting at least an hour delay in addition to our 2 hour delay. I was making plans to call the company and cancel as duty wasn't going to work out when gate hold said they had a window to get us out early. I rushed to get passengers on board; and start the airplane to get on our way. As we taxied out the weather started to deteriorate southwest of the airport; our intended departure direction. We were given instructions to taxi to runway xx and monitor tower. We then pulled into the holding pad next to aircraft Y; and appeared 3rd in line for departure. They cleared an airplane behind us for takeoff issuing an immediate turn north to avoid weather. As my first officer and I were discussing a go/no go decision we were cleared for takeoff with an immediate turn to 360 to avoid weather. We agreed to depart and I applied normal taxi power to the airplane to enter runway xx. As we passed aircraft Y they communicated that we had hit them. I canceled my takeoff; and taxied back to the gate to assess any damage. I was contacted by local arff (airport rescue and fire fighting) and airport operations to issue a statement as to what happened. The aircraft suffered an inch or so long scrape to the left navigation light lens.
