Narrative:
Executed VOR runway 05 cak, while shooting the approach the control tower advised us that they were getting a low altitude alert and that we were left of course. At the time we were 100' above MDA and the VOR dci showed us on course. Note: missed approach procedure is 16 DME from the VOR, therefore creating a very non precision approach due to beam width. We located the airport visually and proceeded west/O any further occurrences.
