Narrative:
The flight attendant called and reported smoke coming from the oven in forward galley. International relief officer (international relief officer) was back on break and described to us over handset the smoke was white and billowing from the oven along with extreme burnt smell. We ran the QRH and advised the flight attendant to turn off oven and pull circuit breakers. She stated there was burnt food in the oven; which she thought was the cause but said the oven was unusually hot. After a short time; the smoke dissipated but smell lingered. Discussing with crew; we decided the safest course of action was to divert into ZZZ; with an uneventful over weight landing.
