Narrative:
While taxiing into gate X at tpa, the ground crew waived me off to turn around and proceed to gate, which I did. About 30 mins later a mechanic came on board and advised I had sprung a hinge on a cargo door in the open position on a commuter jet parked at the end of the concourse between gates. During the turn around, I kept my power at idle, but I guess it was still too much for the open cargo door. I will be much more aware of any equipment behind me aircraft in all future operations.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: WAVED OFF OF GATE BY GND SIGNALER AND DIRECTED TO ANOTHER GATE. LATER REPORTED THAT IN TURNING AWAY A NEARBY OPEN CARGO DOOR WAS BLOWN AND A HINGE BENT.
