Narrative:
While maneuvering the aircraft to line up our run-in line that was on a 190 heading; we made a check turn to the north. The controller asked us our intentions and we politely informed him of our desires. He stated that we needed to notify him of any maneuvers like that in the future. We have since passed this information on to the rest of our pilot cadre.
