Narrative:
What I believe to be the cause of this incident is that we were late beginning our trip from mci because our aircraft was late inbound. The captain wanted to try to make up time lost. We had 6 legs to fly that day, and during 3 legs we had 10 mins on the ground (scheduled), 19 mins in den and 5 mins in laa. I believe the corrective action should be for capts to slow down just a bit to be sure they have all pertinent information and for me to quiz the captain more to be sure he has done his job. On 2/91 I was assigned as first officer to flight from den to laa, continuing on to liberal, ks. When we departed den the agent brought out WX for our trip, but he didn't give us NOTAMS. Upon arrival at laa we landed runway 18 and the VASI lights and some runway lights were off, and a taxiway was closed. We taxied in and the captain remarked he didn't have any NOTAMS for laa, and he didn't get them or didn't check them before departing laa. We departed laa on runway 8, which was notamed closed, and we didn't find it out until arriving in liberal, ks for our rest break.
