Narrative:
While I was sleeping during my break an altitude deviation occurred. The relief pilots were in russian airspace. They were assigned a cruise altitude in meters. They misread the feet to meters chart and set an incorrect altitude. As they descended a thousand feet below their actual cruise altitude assignment ATC intervened. They then climbed back to the correct altitude.
