Narrative:
On departing from uncontrolled airport with 1 passenger (who is also a pilot), called on unicom that I was going to back-taxi down runway. As I turned onto runway after hearing no reply, I found an small aircraft having landed and in process of taking off again. Neither my passenger nor myself had heard any communication, even though he stated, 'I called on final.' I would never had moved onto the runway had I known he was there and I had checked the sky around the approach end of runway visually. Neither aircraft was in any grave danger, but I do feel it is further evidence that people in traffic patterns at uncontrolled airports need to talk more. I am certain that more conversation between aircraft would help between pilots.

Title: GND INCIDENT AS 2 SMA'S ALMOST COLLIDE AT A NON TWR ARPT.
Narrative: ON DEPARTING FROM UNCONTROLLED ARPT WITH 1 PAX (WHO IS ALSO A PLT), CALLED ON UNICOM THAT I WAS GOING TO BACK-TAXI DOWN RWY. AS I TURNED ONTO RWY AFTER HEARING NO REPLY, I FOUND AN SMA HAVING LANDED AND IN PROCESS OF TAKING OFF AGAIN. NEITHER MY PAX NOR MYSELF HAD HEARD ANY COM, EVEN THOUGH HE STATED, 'I CALLED ON FINAL.' I WOULD NEVER HAD MOVED ONTO THE RWY HAD I KNOWN HE WAS THERE AND I HAD CHKED THE SKY AROUND THE APCH END OF RWY VISUALLY. NEITHER ACFT WAS IN ANY GRAVE DANGER, BUT I DO FEEL IT IS FURTHER EVIDENCE THAT PEOPLE IN TFC PATTERNS AT UNCONTROLLED ARPTS NEED TO TALK MORE. I AM CERTAIN THAT MORE CONVERSATION BTWN ACFT WOULD HELP BTWN PLTS.
