Narrative:
When I parked at gate and opened door #1 (flight attendant) flight attendant reported fume event in cabin. #2 flight attendant reported a strong dirty sock odor and advised me she was not feeling well.I went to cabin saw cleaners/security cleaners also wearing mask and holding noses. I put info in logbook and maintenance advised could be APU and wanted to me to run engines without APU. While hooking up aircraft with cart station personnel sprayed entire aircraft with a lemon smelling spray making odor even worse.tried starting engines but air cart failed. Maintenance advised they would find another one and with doors and windows shut and without air odor become unbearable and left aircraft due to concern of safety.
