Narrative:
Upon take off out of ZZZ; flight attendant 3; and myself (flight attendant 2) noticed a dirty sock smell in aft galley. Upon level off; captain phoned flight attendants and informed us that they were also experiencing a dirty sock smell in flight deck. We told him we were experiencing the same smell in the aft galley. Captain told us to not start our service; as he was taking the aircraft back to ZZZ; as he felt it was not safe to continue to ZZZ1 with the strong odor.
