Narrative:

I sat down and was given a position relief briefing. During the brief I was told aircraft X was at 2000 ft for icing. The controller I took the sector from told me during the brief that 2000 ft was a good altitude and used the number six on the keypad to show the minimum altitudes for that area. The previous controller didn't see that 2200 ft was actually the safe altitude and not 2000 ft. When I finally realized it; I climbed the aircraft back to 2200 ft and he wound up landing at ZZZ (his original destination) safely. The settings for the minimum altitudes on the scope need to be brighter and more clear for us to see.
