Narrative:
After passing the laf VOR and descending though IMC conditions, we broke out of the clouds at about 1900' MSL and descended to 1800' MSL. We were on the VOR-a approach to laf at 6 DME traffic reported itself at about 5 DME, 2000' MSL on the 150 degree right opp direction. Right after he reported his position, he passed off our right side 100-200' above us and 1/4-1/2 mi away from us.
