Climbing out of ZZZ at 8;000 ft. My right engine failed. We [advised ATC] and turned downwind to return to runway xx. We accomplished ECAM actions (A321) and landed uneventfully 7 minutes later. We stopped on runway xy for inspection and returned to the gate to debrief maintenance.
