Narrative:
The airplane experienced a complete loss of engine power shortly after the initial power reduction during the descent. My attempt to restore engine power was not successful and an off-airport landing was initiated. The airplane was airborne and running normally for approximately 25 minutes prior to the loss of engine power. I was the sole occupant and was not injured. The airplane did sustain damage to the outer portion of the right wing leading edge when it hit a stop sign. I'm not aware of the monetary amount of the damage at this time. I do not know the reason for the power loss at this time. There was no contamination present in the fuel either pre or post flight and the airplane came to rest with approximately 20 gallons of useable fuel in the main tanks. All aspects of the airplane preflight inspection and engine run up were normal.
