Narrative:

A courier arrived at aircraft. The courier and myself loaded the aircraft and the courier discovered more cargo on the passenger seat. Meanwhile I unchocked the airplane, collected the remaining cargo and locked the airplane. I saw the van driver get in the van to leave (as usual). I climbed in the airplane, started the engines, received ATIS and proceeded to maneuver on the ramp. I immediately met resistance and knowing these are numerous chain holes on our ramp, I gave it power thinking I was in one of them. I neglected to verify that the driver had actually moved his van away from my airplane. This is the probable cause of this incident I believe.
