Narrative:

Flight sna-den deviated from the prescribed course for the sna company noise abatement departure to avoid possible collision with VFR traffic at 2000' MSL approximately 3 mi south of sna. Luckily, departure control and our TCAS alerted us of this traffic. Had we not received these alerts, we would have flown company procedure which would have put us in a very possible collision position. Due to the unusual attitudes required for this procedure and the fact that concentration on aircraft INS is required to perform it, it is highly possible that we would not have obtained visibility contact with this aircraft. Suggestion: if this departure procedure is to be continued, then the noise sensitive area should be prohibited to VFR aircraft.
